This was a really great time. The tour was wonderful, the food great and there was even an entertainer that came and danced on the boat as we cruised peacefully down the Dubai Creek. It was very cool to see the city at night and to also see all the lit-up boats that were moving along the creek with us. The only downside was the transportation from the hotel. The driver was insane and we feared for our lives numerous times.

I booked this excursion through Viator/Alpha Tours LLC and it didn’t get off to the best of starts. Firstly when I contacted Alpha to confirm pickup location they had no record of the booking. This led to numerous phone calls at foreign rates to try and rectify. It was left that I was to call them the next day when I landed in Dubai and see if they had it. By the time I got to Dubai they had emailed to say that they had the booking and pickup at hotel was 19:20-20:00 and that I should contact them with my exact room number. I emailed room number to 2 different people in the office and got no reply so I then called at 19:15 to check they had the room number which they did. Shortly after I received a call from the office to say that they had been waiting for me a long time and that the driver had other guests waiting too! This was at 19:20!! When we got downstairs we had a heated conversation with the driver where I stated that his office had told me 19:20 and his reply was that he had been calling our room and we’d kept other guests waiting on the bus for 40 minutes. We then arrived at the boat to be told that there wasn’t a separate table for me and my wife and we were added to the table with the family who had been waiting on the bus. So after an awkward 2 hour cruise which other than the seating was okay, we got back to the bus and the driver in fairness did offer an apology for the misunderstanding. For me it should be his office doing the apologising as I can understand his frustration at having different pickup times to us and he got the brunt of it. So in summary, the cruise was ok seating apart, but the overall experience was very disappointing and slightly overshadowed our short stopover in Dubai and if I went back I wouldn’t go near anything with Alpha Tours name beside it again.

I thoroughly enjoyed the boat ride. The staff were polite, helpful and a bit unorganized. The food was not of my interest.
